It's been so long...

Well school is back is session and once again I'm busy busy busy. A lot has happened since I last blogged, so I'll use the next few minutes to catch you up!Michael and I got engaged on August 8th,we are both so excited!! School has started back and I have 156 new smiling faces this fall. I have completed two of my graduate school classes and am now on classes three and four! Also, this summer I joined First Presbyterian. It seems like there is so much going on in my life...

This week has been one hectic week!! I have shamely scheduled and rescheduled four meetings with the caterer. She is so kind to be so understanding. Who knew that teaching school could be so time consuming and demanding? I thought they just graded papers..haha..Actually, to shed some light on how MUCH we actually do, you should probably know that at least two or three times a week we have some type of development workshop on top of planning.

SCHOOL:

My classes this year...lets see...I have six classes in all..three accelerated and three non-accelerated. All are wonderful with the exception of one class that has a few bad apples. Hey, it wouldn't be a school year without them. I think the Lord places them in my class for a reason and that is to show Christ through me and be a beacon of hope and love in their lives.

Belhaven..oh Belhaven...classes, are as usual, diverse, interesting, and LONG. I love that there is a Chrisian tworldview in the beginning of each class. I guess that's what you get when you attend a Christian college. This semester I am taking two classes, Dimensions of Learning I and Effective Teaching Strategies. I guess we will see how I juggle teaching, going to school, and planning a wedding. Oh, how am I going to do it? I know it will work out.

MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO:

Ran into a lady in Stein Mart the other day and she was telling me of a girl that was killed in a car accident, the girl was killed two years and two days from her brother. They were both killed in drunk driving accidents. Awful..my heart and prayers go out to that family. It is so sad that kids do not think before they get behind the wheel.

OH HOW I LOVE:

Michael and I went to our first of five premarital counseling sessions with our church. We are both so delighted to have Nate Shurden officiating our wedding. Nate is such an awesome guy, he makes us both feel so comfortable. I am glad to know that he will be a part of our journey together. The funny thing is, I don't think I realized how blessed I was to have Michael in my life and as someone I am going to spend the rest of my life with until Monday. What made me have this "Ah-ha moment" was that Nate had us talk about how we met, how our relationship evolved, and how we got to the place we are today. As we both talked about our relationship, it was so amazing to see how God's hands have been wrapped around our relationship the whole time. I'm amazed and so very grateful for the blessings that he has given to both of us.

I hope all is well with everyone... Have yourself a wonderful weekend and I'll try to do the same!

God BLESS

Summer...Where have you gone?

We start back school in just a few weeks, AH!! Where has the summer gone? I'll tell you where...summer school. I feel like all I have done this summer is school work. Some days I have to remind myself why I am getting my Master's degree. The workload is so heavy, how am I going to handle this in the fall when I have work too.
This past weekend I visited my grandparents in Tupelo, MS. My family had a living estate sale in my grandparents old home (they have recently moved). Moving things and preparing for our sale was so tiring, that is not something I want to do again for a couple hundred years. While I was in Tupelo, Michael won a gift card for the Buji Spa in Madison. He knew better to keep it for himeself, kidding of course. He was nice enough to give it to me. I need it after the four days of moving boxes.
I found some FABULOUS things while packing/moving my grandparents. I have retrieved a vintage suitcase that is orange that is filled with old fabric. I am so excited that I have those things. I plan to make an apron for my cousin and myself with some of the fabric. I also found some vintage ivory lace that I would like to have my wedding veil made out of (not any time soon-one day though :)

I know I've been away...sorry

Well, one things for sure..It is HOT outside. I went walking yesterday and was scared to death I wasn't going to make it back home. Maybe that's a sign I'm out of shape, or maybe it was the heat..I've successfully wrapped up my first graduate level class with an A..Yay for me!! And now I'm on to the next one and let it be said, it looks hard. My summer days have been mostly filled with schoolwork and the occasional pool day. I'd lay out more but its just too dang HOT! There I am back to the heat!! Last week, I went to basketball camp at Co-Lin in Wesson, MS. For those of you who do not know where it is, it's in the armpit of America. Michael's girls were there for camp, so I being the supportive girlfriend that I am tagged along. (Don't let me fool you, I love it). I have recently discovered Fresh-ink, which is a stationary store. WOW, amazing..Then again, you're talking to someone who has more stationary than she already needs. I'll post the website later this week.

Saturday :)

Good weekend for sure..
Friday night was spent with fun girls and awkward guys.. I don't think we'll ever forget our firefighter friends from the Bulldog. One word, WOW. Ladies, it's not what you think..These weren't pose for the camera, Mr. November fire fighters. Lets just say they were a little rough around the edges. The best thing about my group of friends is that we've learned to adapt. We can have fun with just about anybody.
Saturday, so much fun. I am sad that poor Leyton had to go to work :( She was missed.
I had such a wonderful time today. It was spent just as a summer day should be, by the pool. Today was the first official pretty Saturday of the summer. Lecil and I, along with the surrounding metro Jackson area, went to the pool. With good intentions, we brought things to read..Needless to say, it didn't happen.
We cooked out tonight on Ellen's new grill. It was slow in the beginning, but it was sure good. Well, besides the chicken leg that rolled off under the grill :) No worries, I washed it off and I'm pretty sure it was eaten with no complaints. We also played with the cutest two dogs tonight, wild but cute. I want one so bad :( But I don't think there is any hope in getting one.
The weekend has been a good one, tomorrow it will have to slow down because there are three girls in this house that need to do some serious studying.

New House, New Street, Same GREAT FRIENDS

I recently moved into a house with two of my best friends from college. Our house is so precious, and I can't wait to have a get together here. Tonight was our first night to actually coexist together after a few weeks. We are all so busy!! To protect them, I am not going to use their "REAL" names..Roommate 1-we'll call her Layton and Roommate 2-she'll be Lecil; referring as them together I'll call them "the girls".
Here is a breakdown of what my week has been like so far.

Monday, Memorial Day- Spent with Michael. We ate at Sonny's where we realized that I have a fascination with law enforcement (I know strange).

Tuesday- The girls started nursing school. I felt like a proud Mama taking a picture of them in front of the fireplace, they looked so precious. School at night, I was so proud of my groups presentation on Canter's Assertive Discipline!! I love my group, I'll talk about them much later...
Class at night, it was long and repetitive..

Wednesday- Manicure and pedicure, dinner with the boyfriend (my sweet sweet boyfriend he works so hard), and family time with The Girls.

That's where I am this week...Lot's to do tomorrow looking forward to the weekend like everyone else in America.

My attempt to become a blogger

Nine days into my new age of 23 (yes,I realize that I am still young) I've decided to journey into the world of "blogging". We shall see how it evolves.

Short, but thorough description of myself....

Mississippi State Universiy graduate, loved college, I was super involved in several organizations. I met some really wonderful people, which I am embaressed to say I do not keep up with. Really what is the point of investing in friendships for four years and then nothing...I'm sure it happens frequently enough...Anyway, back to me... I teach school, a small Christian private school. I love my students and most days, I love my job. I have a wonderful, yet small family. We're not your typical family by no means of the imagination, but it works for us.

That is all for today..Kinda just left ya hanging
